Meet Dr. Estee Marchesani

I'm glad you're here

Hi there, and welcome to my website! I’m Dr. Estee Marchesani (she/her), or simply “Estee.” I’m a licensed psychologist in private practice offering individual therapy to adults in person in Dallas, Texas, and virtually in Psypact states (see map here https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap).

I’m honored that you’re here and taking the steps to understand yourself more deeply. As a psychologist who has been in practice for over a decade, I feel confident in my treatment approach and my ability to connect with people regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, or relationship status.

We are all human, and I love connecting on a human-to-human level with clients. I have a “come as you are” approach to therapy and life. All parts of you are welcome in my therapy space. I hope to collaborate with you so that we can curiously and openly explore the parts of you that need understanding, honoring, and respect while teaching you how to help yourself in the process. I see it like emptying a puzzle box and exploring how the pieces fit together and what stories those pieces want to share to be understood.

I believe and feel that my soul’s work is to help people discover and reconnect with who they are meant to be. Then, we can help the authentic version of you, Thrive!

Area of Expertise and Why I Chose It

I have served in various roles as a psychologist in the mental health field, including therapist, researcher, clinical supervisor, and university course instructor. I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clients in various settings. Through these experiences, I have felt most drawn toward relational trauma survivors, which can include anything on the spectrum, from emotional/verbal abuse to sexual assault and incest.

I have specialized clinical and research training in the etiology and treatment of physical, emotional, and sexual interpersonal trauma and abuse among adults. My doctoral dissertation investigated the distinction between Complex PTSD, PTSD, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Treatment Approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems Therapy (Level 2 trained and working towards certification). However, I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. From the first session onward, I collaborate with the client to develop a shared understanding and treatment plan specifically tailored to the client’s needs and areas of concern. I approach treatment as a fluid process, and our treatment plan can shift as the client forms more understanding of themselves and their goals shift.

Areas of Blossoming Interest

I am a lifelong learner interested in the human energy field and energy healing. Specifically, I’m hoping to incorporate chakras in psychotherapy. I’m at the beginning stage, but energy healing and bodywork feel aligned with the somatic pieces of trauma therapy. It feels like I’ve already been incorporating some of these concepts in intangible ways. Still, I hope to bring more consciousness and intention to integrate chakras, therapy, bodywork, and energy healing into my future client work.

I also have a passion for helping new parents navigate the challenges of life transitions with children and discussing parenting concerns. I’m an avid reader and learner of parenting styles and approaches. I feel drawn towards Dr. Becky Kennedy’s Good Inside approach, Attachment, Gentle, and Conscious Parenting. IFS provides the opportunity to reparent ourselves, and I see these approaches as useful translations to real-time parenting of our actual and inner children.

What I am Like Outside of the Office

I reside in Dallas with my husband and two young sons. I love animals, especially dogs. I love being outside- you can find me collecting neat rocks and leaves or playing a game of hide and go-seek with my boys. I used to be somewhat of a “foodie,” but that interest has faded for this season of life. I love a good clearance bin and enjoy bargain shopping when possible.
